NEDA Engages with Municipio Baucau, Timor-Leste, to Explore Implementation Strategies for the BEmONC Project

          On February 14, 2024, Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of the Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), accompanied by Ms. Dariwan Prempoomwate, Director of Project Operation and Management Bureau I, and Ms. Pressia Arfin-Cabo, a representative from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Republic Democratic of Timor-Leste, engaged in strategic discussions with Ms. Veneranda Lenos Martins, President of the Baucau Municipality Authority, and the Executive Board of Municipio Baucau, Timor-Leste. The meeting focused on enhancing the Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (BEmONC) program and addressing operational challenges in Baguia and Quelicai. The goal is to foster greater integration between local and central agencies in Timor-Leste and NEDA for future BEmONC projects. The discussions took place at the Administration of Municipio Baucau.
