Bangkok, July 21, 2026 – The Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA) is hosting the 14th CEXIM-EDCF-JICA-NEDA Quadripartite Meeting from July 21–22, 2026, at the Dusit Thani Bangkok. Sr.Col. (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President, Acting President of NEDA, officially delivered the opening address for the event.
The meeting is convened under the theme “The Strategic Imperative of Project Post-Evaluation.” This focus aligns with modern infrastructure development directions that extend beyond physical construction to emphasize infrastructure quality, project sustainability, and climate resilience. Delegates shared expertise and operational approaches regarding project post-evaluation following construction completion. Discussions covered evaluation processes based on OECD DAC criteria and the integration of lessons learned to establish a Learning Feedback Loop. This mechanism ensures that insights and conclusions from past evaluations are applied to the design, appraisal, approval, and management of future development projects to maximize cost-efficiency, long-term sustainability, and regional benefits.
Additionally, NEDA, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), organized a site visit for meeting participants at the MEA Chidlom Office and the Chidlom Underground Cable Tunnel. As a Thai state enterprise tasked with metropolitan power distribution and modernizing the capital's electrical grid – highlighted by projects such as overhead-to-underground cable conversions, smart grid technology integration, and an advanced urban power control center – the MEA represents a benchmark in urban utility management. This visit served as a practical, high-potential case study enabling the four development financial institutions and organizations to observe and analyze concrete reflections of large-scale urban infrastructure transformation.
