NEDA has signed an agreement with ROD to provide technical assistance (TA) for studying the design of the NR68 project with MPWT in Cambodia.

Mr. Peeramet Wuttitornetiraks, Director of the Office of Economic Cooperation and Development with Neighboring Countries (Public-Private Partnership: PPP), has signed the Record of Discussion (ROD) for providing Technical Assistance (TA) in studying and designing the detailed plans of the NR68 project, which involves the improvement of Road No. 68 from Chong Jom/O'Smach-Samrong-Klong Hat Lek, the Kingdom of Cambodia. The signing took place in Phnom Penh on June 14, 2023, with H.E. Tauch Chankosal, Permanent Secretary of State, Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The purpose of this agreement is to affirm joint support for conducting the study and designing the detailed plans within an 8-month timeframe, which will serve as essential information for future Financial Assistance (FA). Road No. 68 spans a distance of 120 kilometers. It serves as an international route connecting Sisaket, Surin, and Buri Ram provinces in Thailand with the O'Smach/Chong Jom border area in Udon Mechai province and Surin province, linking to the northeastern region of Thailand. Once the construction is completed, it is expected to reduce travel time, provide convenience for travelers and facilitate faster transportation of goods. Additionally, it will promote economic development and boost tourism in both countries.
