NEDA Engages in Dialogue with the Lao PDR

On 25 June 2025, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of NEDA, and his delegation held a bilateral discussion with Mr. Suliwat Souvanajoumka, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, during the AIIB Annual Meeting 2025 in Beijing, China. The discussion addressed strategies for collaboration between NEDA and the Lao PDR, focusing on comprehensive infrastructure development encompassing economic, social, and environmental dimensions. They also discussed the initiation of maintenance programs for completed infrastructure projects to ensure sustainable and continuous development.

NEDA Holds Kick-off Meeting for the Construction of Route No. 12 in Lao PDR
On 23 May 2025, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), together with Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of NEDA, and the delegation, participated in the kick-off meeting for the improvement project of Route No. 12 (R12) between Thakhek and the Naphao International Border Checkpoint in Lao PDR. The meeting was attended by Mr. Wanthong Bouthanavong, Director General of the Department of Highways, along with project consultants and construction contractors to discuss the implementation plan, commencement of construction, and project procedures under the cooperation framework of NEDA. The meeting took place at the Department of Highways, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Vientiane, Lao PDR.

NEDA Led the Delegates from Cambodia on a Study Visit to Biogas Power Plant in Phu Pha Man District, Khon Kaen Province
On 20 May 2025, the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), led by Mr. Rapipit Promnart, Director of the Policy and Planning Bureau, facilitated a site visit for delegates from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of the Kingdom of Cambodia to a Biogas Power Plant in Phu Pha Man District, Khon Kaen Province. The visit formed part of the Study Visit on “Renewable Energy Development in Thailand.”
