On 5 May 2026, the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), led by Senior Col. Saranyu Viriyavejakul, Vice President (Acting President), and Mr. Rapipit Promnart, Director of Policy and Planning Bureau, together with relevant officials, held discussions with Ms. Stefania Dina, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank Timor-Leste Resident Mission (ADB TLRM), on the sidelines of the ADB’s 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on infrastructure development and capacity building programs for government officials in preparation for Timor-Leste’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2029. both sides also discussed possible areas of financial cooperation and project development. In addition, Ms. Stefania Dina shared information on ADB’s ongoing operations in Timor-Leste, particularly in the transport, public health, and energy sectors, as well as ADB’s support for Timor-Leste’s economic development and the sustainable improvement of the people’s quality of life.
