NEDA Extends Congratulations on the 84th Anniversary of the Department of Land Transport
Bangkok, 8 August 2025 — Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of NEDA, represented the Agency in extending congratulations to the Department of Land Transport (DLT) on the occasion of its 84th anniversary of establishment. On behalf of NEDA, Mr. Kirati also presented a charitable donation to the Phramongkutklao Hospital Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, The Princess Royal. The contribution was formally received by Mr. Jirut Wisanjit, Director-General of the Department of Land Transport, at the DLT’s Road Transport Innovation and Technology Center.

NEDA attended JICA – NEDA Technical Level Bilateral Meeting
On July 17, 2025, Mr. Rapipit Promnart, Director of the Policy and Planning Bureau attended a Technical Level Bilateral Meeting with Mr. Kohji Mitomori, Director of Southeast Asia Division 2, and Mr. Shigehiko Sugita, Senior Director of Southeast Asia Division 4, along with their team. The purpose of the meeting was to follow up on the progress of their cooperation on various initiatives since the 6th JICA – NEDA Annual Meeting in April 2025. This meeting took place at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

NEDA attended JICA – NEDA High Level Bilateral Meeting
On July 17, 2025, at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, NEDA delegation, led by Col. Saranyu Viriyavejakul, NEDA Vice President, attended JICA – NEDA High Level Bilateral Meeting with Mr. Katsuo Matsumoto, JICA Vice President. Both parties discussed and exchanged views on potential seminar topics to be considered as the main theme for the next CEXIM-EDCF-JICA-NEDA Seminar, as well as suitable timings and venues for that event. Notably, NEDA is scheduled to host the 14th CEXIM-EDCF-JICA-NEDA Seminar in 2026.

NEDA attended the 13th CEXIM-EDCF-JICA-NEDA Seminar
On July 17, 2025, NEDA delegation, led by Col. Saranyu Viriyavejakul, NEDA Vice President, attended the 13th CEXIM-EDCF-JICA-NEDA Seminar focused on “Mobilizing Development Finance to Achieve SDGs”. During the meeting, representatives from each agency engaged in discussions and shared their experiences concerning effective approaches for private sector engagement. This collaboration aims to address the future demand for development cooperation initiatives and to help advance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The seminar took place at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

NEDA Reviews Progress of Route 12 (R12) Improvement Project: Thakhek–Naphao Border
On 17 July 2025, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of NEDA, along with representatives, participated in a progress review meeting for the Route 12 (R12) improvement project, covering the section between Thakhek and Naphao Border Crossing, Lao PDR, held at the Department of Roads, Vientiane Capital. The meeting included Mr. Sysouphanh Chansavat, Deputy Director General of the Department of Roads, project consultants, and construction contractors. Discussions focused on preparations for construction commencement, including updates on challenges identified during site surveys.

NED Pays courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Leklay
On 17 July 2025, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of NEDA, and a delegation paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Leklay SIVILAY, Minister of Public Works and Transport of Lao PDR, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Vientiane Capital, to congratulate him on his new appointment. The visit served to introduce NEDA’s organizational scope, ongoing cooperation projects in Lao PDR, and to discuss both ongoing and future joint initiatives, particularly in transport infrastructure development and water supply system improvements.
