On 9 September 2025, Mr. Rapipit Promnart, Director of Policy and Planning Bureau, represented the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA) in a meeting with Mrs. Udeni Udugahapaththuwa, Director General of the Public Debt Management Office (PDMO), Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. The meeting aimed to present and gather feedback on the Country Strategy 2026–2030, including NEDA’s three strategic development pillars: (1) Cross-Border Economic Enhancement, (2) Cross-Border Social Return Initiative, and (3) Cross-Border Environmental Impact Reduction.
Both sides exchanged views on Sri Lanka’s current economic and public debt situation, as well as discussed opportunities for future collaboration. The discussion focused on the readiness to integrate cooperation in implementing Financial Assistance (FA) and Technical Assistance (TA) projects between NEDA and Sri Lankan counterparts. The meeting took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
