On 2 July 2025, Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of NEDA, along with representatives from the Department of Highways (Thailand), the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, participated in a Joint Evaluation meeting in Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR.

Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of NEDA, led the agency’s delegation to pay a courtesy call on Mr. Litta KATTIYA, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) of Lao PDR, along with representatives from the Lao Department of Water Supply. The visit aimed to understand the policy direction and vision for water supply system development under the Lao PDR’s 2030 Development Strategy. NEDA also held a working session with Dr. Somchaivang DETHOUD OM, Deputy Director General of the Vientiane Department of Public Works and Transport, and Mr. Saiya SAIMOUNGKHOUN, Director General of Nampapa Nakhoneluang (NPNL), to discuss development plans and strategies. The team visited three high-priority locations in Xaithani District, Vientiane Capital—namely, Ban Dong Bang, Ban Dong Makkhai, and Ban Tha Ngon—where there is an urgent need to increase water production capacity. A wrap-up meeting summarizing the findings and discussions was held at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Vientiane Capital during 1–2 July 2025.

On July 1, 2025, Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) , together with representatives from the Department of Highways (DOH), the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conducted a field visit to inspect the Hongsa-Chiangman Road Construction Project (Chiangman City, Chomphet District, Luang Prabang Province) in the Lao People Democratic Republic.

Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), together with executives and staff members, participated in the recording of a televised message offering blessings to Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, Queen of Thailand, on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday anniversary on 3 June 2025. The recording was organized to express their profound loyalty and heartfelt gratitude for Her Majesty’s boundless benevolence. The ceremony was held at the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand, under the Public Relations Department, on 20 May 2025.

On 28 May 2025, Colonel (Ret.) Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President of NEDA, was invited as a guest speaker at an academic seminar marking the 150th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event was organized by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) at Narathip Room, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the theme “Thailand’s Development Cooperation in Achieving Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.”

On 23 May 2025, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), together with Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of NEDA, and the delegation, participated in the kick-off meeting for the improvement project of Route No. 12 (R12) between Thakhek and the Naphao International Border Checkpoint in Lao PDR. The meeting was attended by Mr. Wanthong Bouthanavong, Director General of the Department of Highways, along with project consultants and construction contractors to discuss the implementation plan, commencement of construction, and project procedures under the cooperation framework of NEDA. The meeting took place at the Department of Highways, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Vientiane, Lao PDR.
