Vientiane, Lao PDR, August 26, 2025 — Mr. Kirati Veruwan, Vice President of the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), led the NEDA delegation to present the agency’s Midterm Plan I (2026–2030) and Country Strategy (2026–2030) to representatives of international development organizations. The meeting included Ms. Shanny Campbell, Country Director of the Lao Resident Mission of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Khwima Nthara, Country Manager for the World Bank Lao PDR, and Mr. Nobuyuki Kobe, Senior Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR).
The purpose of the meeting was to establish a mutual understanding of NEDA’s operational direction over the next five years and to solicit feedback and recommendations from financial and development agencies. Participants also shared perspectives on the future economic outlook of Lao PDR, providing NEDA with critical insights to guide its planning and implementation of programs in a way that aligns with the country’s context and promotes sustainable regional cooperation.
