NEDA and Myanmar sign in a loan agreement for Third GMS Corrido Project

Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, the President of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA) and Daw Si Si Pyone, Director General, Treasury Department, Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry (MOPFI) signed in a loan agreement for Third Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Corridor Towns Development Project in Myawaddy, Kayin State (Water Supply System Improvement and Development of Waste Management System). H.E. U Han Zaw, Union Minister of Construction (MOC) U Kyaw Linn Deputy Minister of MOC; Mrs. Supattra Srimaitreepitak, Ambassador at Yangon; H.E. U Maung Muang Win, Deputy Minister of MOPFI; Ms. Jurarat Suteetorn, committee chairman and the committee of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) acted as witnesses. Such a project aims to improve basic structure of waterworks and waste management system in Myawaddy, Kayin Myanmar which is right across Mae Sot District, Tak Thailand and to effectively support the expansion of urban community, economy growth, trade and border tourism as well as economic activities along East-West Economic Corridor: EWEC connecting Myanmar – Thailand – Vietnam.
