NEDA participates in Groundbreaking Ceremony of Stung-Bot Immigration Checkpoint Development Project, Peeramet Wuttitoranetrak

On 22 April 2019 at Stung-Bot, Poipet, Banteay Meanchey, Kingdom of Cambodia; The President of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA) and Senior Colonel Saranyu Viriyavejakul, D.Sc., Vice President along with the team participated in groundbreaking ceremony of Stung-Bot Immigration Checkpoint Development Project and the road connected to route No.5 road, Kingdom of Cambodia. The project was the cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia though the financial support in a form of a soft loan from Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA). Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen (Lord Prime Minister and Supreme Military Commander), the Prime Minister of Kingdom of Cambodia acted as a Guest of Honor.

Immigration Checkpoint Development Project aims for Investment and Commercial facilitation between the two parties as well as to support the expansion of products and services mobilization. It is expected that the construction of Sa-Tueng-Bot Immigration Checkpoint will increase trade value between Thailand-Cambodia and facilitate in product transportation in terms of time. Transportation through Sa-Tueng-Bot Immigration Checkpoint will help ease traffic congestion and product transportation in the area of Aranyaprathet, Ban Khlong Léuk, Sa Kaeo-Poipet, Banteay Meanchey. This project is considered a part of the support of ASEAN Connectivity, especially the connectivity in Infrastructure within a region. At present, Nong Ian-Stung Bot Immigration Checkpoint is during the process of preparation for the construction of Boundary Post building. It is expected to be completed in about 2 years.
